BAC new app
Banco de América Central, Costa Rica
I joined BAC's banking app project as an accessibility consultant, then stepped into team leadership guiding UX designers, UI designers, developers, and QA through a process that resulted in a fully accessible and recognized product designed for users with severe visual and motor disabilities.
Role
Accessibility consultant, design leader
Outcome
Making accessibility a cornerstone in design and development
Accessibility Consulting, Training & Testing
My role began as the accessibility consultant for the project, responsible for leading every aspect of accessibility work: training the team on WCAG and EAA standards and best practices, verifying compliance throughout the design and development process, and running user testing sessions focused on real accessibility needs.
The goal wasn't just to meet a checklist, it was to build a banking app usable by people with the most advanced visual and motor disabilities, the users who are hardest to design for and most often left behind. That focus paid off: the project was recognized for its high impact, and the app was delivered 100% accessible

Leading a Multidisciplinary Team
Beyond accessibility, I stepped into the role of team lead, guiding a multidisciplinary group that included UX designers, UI designers, developers, and QA. My job was to make sure every requirement from the client was actually met, and that the final product held up to the highest possible standard.
Leading a team this diverse meant translating accessibility requirements into a shared language everyone could work with, whether they were designing a screen, writing code, or testing the final build. Keeping that alignment across disciplines was key to delivering an app that was not only functional and on-brief, but genuinely optimal for every user it was built for.
